Hi everybody,

I cannot understand the difference of the conjugations for the verbs and its meaning. I badly need help for the following:-

the main verb :먹다

1.) what is the difference between:
먹어서, 먹는데, and 먹어야....?

I checked in Wiktionary, and it says about 'cause', 'contrast', and 'condition' respectively, but I do not understand what it means.

2.) what's the difference between : conjunction 먹고 (meokgo) and motive 먹으려고 (meogeuryeogo)? I do not understand at all.

Depending on context these can mean different things. Here are some rough ideas that these phrases usually mean:

먹어서 = because [someone] ate
먹는데 = [someone] ate but
먹어야 = must eat

먹고 = eat and
먹으려고 = plan to eat

Hope that helps!

Dan

PS

I've written a Korean verb conjugator if you need help conjugating verbs: http://dongsa.net

dongsa.net의 동사 프로그램은 아주 재미있지만 질문있습니다. "Nominal ing"에 관하러 "~함"하고 "~하기"가 어떻게 다랍니까? 이를테면 "먹음" 뜻이하고 "먹기" 뜻이 뭣이에요?

Intended meaning:
The dongsa.net verb (conjugation) program is pretty cool, but I have a question about the "nominal ing" form. What's the difference between ~하기 and ~함? For example, what are the meanings of 먹기 and 먹음?
